Beyond The Frame - Video Release and Premiere
SPY OPTIC NZ PRESENTS - BEYOND THE FRAME
After sunrise missions in the Pisa Range and pushing limits at night in The Remarkables, the SPY Optics NZ crew wrapped filming—but the journey didn’t end there. With the edit locked and anticipation building, we took the next step: bringing our mountain mission to the big screen with two back-to-back premieres in Wanaka and Queenstown.

The first screening went down in Wanaka at Rove Bar & Eatery, and the team rolled in early to transform the space—SPY logos everywhere, good vibes locked in from the get-go. By sundown, the place was packed with family, friends, team riders, and fans. Every corner of the bar buzzed with anticipation.
Before hitting play, the full team stood up to share a few words. We talked about the vision behind the project, the highs and lows of filming in the mountains, and how pumped we were to finally share it with our community. Then came the film—and the crowd didn’t hold back.
Cheering broke out for every trick landed, with the kind of raw, infectious energy only a tight-knit snow community can bring. The premiere itself was just the start. DJs took over after the screening and kept the bar heaving with wall-to-wall vibes right through until close.

After a huge night in Wanaka, the crew rallied and hit the road over the hill to Queenstown. Round two went down at Smiths Craft Bar, and once again, we set the tone with SPY branding throughout the space. As daylight faded, the crowds started to roll in—and by the time we hit play, the place was humming.
The team took a moment to speak about the grind and good times behind the lens, and the passion that fueled the whole journey. From the first frame, the audience was dialed in. The response? Loud, proud, and electric.
While this night had a more easygoing vibe than Wanaka, it was no less special. Beers were poured, food was shared, and the crew soaked it all up. After some mellow hangs post-screening, the crowd drifted off into town—but not before the team shared a moment to celebrate what we'd pulled off together.

These two nights weren’t just about dropping a film. They were about bringing our community together, making something that makes you want to grab your board and get out there, and celebrating the love for the mountains—and the people who ride them.
Huge thanks to everyone who turned out, cheered loud, and helped make both nights unforgettable. This project was made by riders, for riders—and we couldn’t have done it without the support of the SPY Optics NZ crew and community.
Until the next one.
